Cornwall and Dartmoor
Jutting out 100 miles into the Atlantic, Cornwall is the southernmost tip of the British Isles mainland. Almost an island, it is renowned for it's 300 miles of rugged coastline, sandy bays and windswept moors including Dartmoor National Park, the largest area of granite in Britain which is known for its tors -- hills topped with outcrops of bedrock, which in granite country such as this are usually rounded boulder-like formations.

St Michael's Mount - Cornwall
St Michael's Mount is a tidal island 400 yd off the Mount's Bay coast. It is united with the town of Marazion by a man-made causeway of granite setts, passable between mid-tide and low water. Originally the site of a Benedictine Chapel, the spectacular castle on the rock dates from the 14th Century.
