Cornwall and Dartmoor
Jutting out 100 miles into the Atlantic, Cornwall is the southernmost tip of the British Isles mainland. Almost an island, it is renowned for it's 300 miles of rugged coastline, sandy bays and windswept moors including Dartmoor National Park, the largest area of granite in Britain which is known for its tors -- hills topped with outcrops of bedrock, which in granite country such as this are usually rounded boulder-like formations.

The Cheesewring - Bodmin Moor
The Cheesewring is a granite tor situated on the eastern flank of Bodmin Moor on Stowe's Hill. It is a natural geological formation, a rock outcrop of granite slabs formed by weathering. The name derives from the resemblance of the piled slabs to a "cheesewring", a press-like device that was once used to make cheese.
