Cornwall and Dartmoor
Jutting out 100 miles into the Atlantic, Cornwall is the southernmost tip of the British Isles mainland. Almost an island, it is renowned for it's 300 miles of rugged coastline, sandy bays and windswept moors including Dartmoor National Park, the largest area of granite in Britain which is known for its tors -- hills topped with outcrops of bedrock, which in granite country such as this are usually rounded boulder-like formations.

Stowe's Hill Is situated on the southeast corner of Bodmin Moor and features many rocky outcrops. Also on Stowe's Hill Is Stowes Pound, a prehistoric enclosure which Is thought to date from the bronze age.
