Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex
A great fractured maze of muddy creeks and forgotten islands in eastern Essex gives way to the largely unspoilt coastline of Suffolk and Norfolk with steep shingle terraces and low crumbling cliffs, a sign of constant battle with the sea.

St.Peter's Church on the Wall - Essex
Besides the marshes at the north-eastern extremity of the tongue of Essex, St. Peter's church stands astride the west wall, in the ruins of the west gateway, of the Roman fort, which, under the name of Othona, was one of the nine forts of the Saxon shore. The church was built in AD 654 and is one of the oldest places of worship in England.
