Argyle, Arran and the Isles
With a vast mainland and home to 23 inhabited islands, the scenery and landscape in Argyll & the Isles will take your breath away. Arran which means "The Peaked Island" in Gaelic, is a small island off the West Coast of Scotland and lies in the Firth of Clyde. Arran is often referred to as 'Scotland in Miniature', and captures many aspects of the beauty of Scotland as a whole, with landscapes of towering granite peaks to peaceful sandy bays.

Goat Fell from Brodick - Isle of Arran
Brodick (Scottish Gaelic: Breadhaig or Tràigh a' Chaisteil ("Castle Beach")) is the main settlement on the Isle of Arran, in the Firth of Clyde. It is halfway along the east coast of the island, in Brodick Bay below Goat Fell, the tallest mountain on Arran. The name is derived from Norse roots meaning "Broad Bay". The harbour receives the main ferry between Arran and the mainland via Ardrossan.
