Lochaber and Ardnamurchan
The magnificent scenery of Lochaber is recognised for its outstanding and unique geological heritage. Explore mountains, lochs, rivers, coasts, cliffs and sandy beaches, look out for some wonderful wildlife, and learn how the landscape has been shaped over many millions of years.
The stunning Ardnamurchan peninsula which these days is often taken to include the neighbouring districts of Morvern, Ardgour, Moidart and Sunart is the most westerly part of the British Isles mainland and is quite literally the end of the road. This is a beautiful but unforgiving and remote corner of Scotland, with amazing seascapes at every turn. The harsh landscape is relieved by a whole series of superb sandy beaches.

Corran Point - Ardnamurchan
Corran Point lighthouse is located on the west bank of Loch Linnhe at Ardgour and guards the Corran Narrows. The Corran Narrows is the part of Loch Linnhe that shrinks to approx 200 yards. Here the ferry has plied to and fro for some hundreds of years, from just a row-boat to todays modern, passenger / vehicle ferry. This light, with its white conical tower, marks the western side of the Corran Ferry crossing. Originally a manned light, it was among the first batch of minor Scottish lights to be automated in 1898. It is still an active light, and is also known as Corran Ferry Lighthouse.
