Wester Ross and Cromarty
Wester Ross is one of the most remote and beautiful parts of Britain - many say the world. Largely unpopulated and surrounded by high peaks and sea lochs, the area is recognised as one of Europe's last wildernesses. The eastern half - Easter Ross is generally flatter, and consists of towns, villages and farmland bordering the Moray Firth.

Loch Bad an Sgalaig - Wester Ross
Loch Bad an Sgalaig is a small, irregular shaped, freshwater loch and reservoir lying 5 miles south of the small village of Poolewe. The north west end of the loch, where it outflows to the Eas na Laimh stream, was dammed in 1949 to power the Kerry Falls hydroelectric power station. Bhoasbheinn at almost 300 ft can be seen in the background.
