Wester Ross and Cromarty
Wester Ross is one of the most remote and beautiful parts of Britain - many say the world. Largely unpopulated and surrounded by high peaks and sea lochs, the area is recognised as one of Europe's last wildernesses. The eastern half - Easter Ross is generally flatter, and consists of towns, villages and farmland bordering the Moray Firth.

Toscaig Harbour - Wester Ross
Toscaig is a small, remote village, at the southern end of the Applecross peninsula and lies at the head of the south facing sea loch, Loch Toscaig, which in turn links with the Inner Sound. A little passenger ferry ran between Toscaig and Kyle of Lochalsh, and until the North Applecross road was built in the 1970s was the only way in and out of Applecross when the Bealach na Bà was closed by snow.
