Spelga Reservoir - County Down
Spelga Reservoir in the Mourne Mountains takes it name from the aforementioned Spelga Mountain and was built to catch the water of the nascent River Bann which meanders from its source near Slieve Muck, through the reservoir and on to Lough Neagh. It was formed by the Spelga Dam developed between 1953 and 1957, in the area of Deers Meadow, and sits at over 1,200 ft above sea level.
