Lochaber and Ardnamurchan
The magnificent scenery of Lochaber is recognised for its outstanding and unique geological heritage. Explore mountains, lochs, rivers, coasts, cliffs and sandy beaches, look out for some wonderful wildlife, and learn how the landscape has been shaped over many millions of years.
The stunning Ardnamurchan peninsula which these days is often taken to include the neighbouring districts of Morvern, Ardgour, Moidart and Sunart is the most westerly part of the British Isles mainland and is quite literally the end of the road. This is a beautiful but unforgiving and remote corner of Scotland, with amazing seascapes at every turn. The harsh landscape is relieved by a whole series of superb sandy beaches.

Ardgour across Loch Linnhe - Ardnamurchan
Ardgour, part of the ancient trade route to the Inner Hebrides, the original "Road to the Isles" is located by the shore of Loch Linnhe at the foot of a towering mountain corrie and is the gateway to Ardnamurchan. The name Ardgour means 'height of the goats', and you can still see feral goats in this huge, sparsely populated wilderness bordered by Loch Shiel, Loch Eil, Loch Linnhe and Loch Sunart.
